In the textile world satin specifically refers to the weave of the fabric — the technique used to create that signature smooth, glossy finish. Satin can be woven from many different fibres, including silk, polyester, and nylon.

To be as transparent as possible, we clearly state the composition of all our satin pieces on our website — 95% polyester and 5% spandex — which allows us to create a fabric that’s soft, durable, and far more affordable and easy to care for than silk satin. The use of a polyester-based satin for our pieces, also means we can avoid the use of unethically sourced, animal-derived silk, which is important to our company.
